I have lived in Bishop’s Stortford for over 30 years, having previously lived in Sawbridgeworth, bringing up my family and enjoying all the area has to offer. I first picked up a paint brush in 1983 when I joined a class at Moot House in Harlow, (run by an excellent local watercolour artist, Leslie Stew). Very quickly, with the encouragement of the other artists in the class, I began exhibiting successfully both locally and further afield. My paintings are hanging on many walls in the UK + Italy and Hungary.
Over the years, I have used different mediums, but my favourite is oil. I love its viscosity and richness of colour. I enjoy painting a variety of subjects and studying the art of the masters and modernists – anyone really. We are very lucky to be able to visit galleries in the UK to appreciate the art of others whether historical, modern, professional or amateur.
